It gives a fairly high boost to damage output and when combined with the capstone of the bottomless mags skill tree, it helps to spam as much splash damage as possible, which is what the build is all about.
Being melee, it will also stagger and break the block of shield-carrying mobs. The Fish Slap is also basically the only grenade in the game actually capable of killing or at least hurting things at M10 (at least, for any VH not named Moze). It's not epic, but it can kill a trash mob in a couple of throws if it bounces well.
No, hellwalker is probably the best shotgun in the game. I always forget hellwalker is base game because like 7/10 hellwalkers have come from ghenna. I had to stop using it because it made using any other gun feel like I was intentionally handicapping myself. I mean, yes but no.

With a decent amount of health regen and health gate it actually mitigates damage as well or better than most other shields. I thought for sure I was gonna be gimped but it's either empty and I'm getting the bonus damage or its full and I'm getting the topped off shield bonuses. The recharge delay and refill more than makes up for its low capacity.
Every character but moze should just use a revolter. Well for moze an old god can be better then revolter since you usually want to keep your action skills alive for as long as possible but if you don’t mind refunding your action skill over and over like I do with bear then Revolter is still better. The only problem is if your are using iron
Moze can be played in a million different ways. Bloodletter is one of my favorite class mods, but I promise you it does not limit her at all. She doesnt need health=shields to stay on her feet or anything. I find Bloodletter to be particularly fun if you're doing non-splash or no-blue-tree builds, since with Desperate Measures and a Bloodletter
